Outstanding Parent Network of the year winners at the Diversity Network Awards

EDF were shortlisted for six awards at the recent Diversity Network Awards, with the Working Parents Network (WPN) being crowned Outstanding Parent Network 2024.

The mission of the Diversity Network Awards (the DNAs) is to celebrate, showcase and amplify the amazing work done by employee resource groups in promoting Diversity and Inclusion, making it fundamental to our DNA.

The DNAs are the first awards of their kind in the UK to celebrate Networks, Executive Sponsors, Heads of Diversity, Leads, Allies and Unsung Heroes who make their networks tick.

And with nominations from across our business, we’re excited to say we were shortlisted in six categories:

  • Executive Sponsor: Carol McArthur for the Mental Health Network
  • New Network: Neurodiversity network
  • Outstanding Women’s Network of the Year: Women’s Network
  • Outstanding family network of the year: The Working Parents Network
  • Best Network Initiative: Kyle Smiths Men’s Club with the Mental Health Network
  • Head of Diversity: Jane Francis

This is a testament to the commitment, passion, and tireless efforts of all the networks throughout the year.

Alex from the Working Parents Network said:

It was great to attend the Diversity Network Awards as one of six finalists from EDF Energy. It is great recognition for how well all our employee networks support us as employees and particularly representing the Working Parents Network (WPN) to win the award for Outstanding Family Network! In particular, a lot of the work the WPN does is around the policies and how they are communicated which can feel thankless, but was cited by the award judges.

The Working Parents Network are really proud to receive this award on behalf of all of our colleagues who do right by each other and have made working parents feel more included than ever.
