Honouring Our Forces Family at EDF

As Armed Forces Month draws to a close, we take the opportunity to reflect on the significance of June for veterans, reservists and the wider military community and to celebrate the contributions of those who serve and those who support them.

Across EDF, colleagues have marked the month with a range of events and activities: from traditional forces themed food and team reflections to moments of silence honouring the sacrifices made by the Forces community past and present.

Our Forces Support Network (FSN) is open to anyone with a connection to the military or simply an interest in showing support, the network is a space for advocacy, connection and guidance.

Through mentoring, mental health awareness and one to one support, the FSN helps those transitioning from military life to feel confident and included within the EDF family.

We’re proud to share a message from Stan Webster, the newly appointed Chair of the Forces Support Network

"It is an honour and privilege to be Chair of the Forces Support Network. As the group title suggests this ‘Support Network’ is crucial in ensuring that we support our veterans and serving (reserve) forces personnel in all aspects of their lives, as well as the wider EDF and HPC community.

Integrity, loyalty, respect and selfless commitment are fundamental tenets that veterans embody and strive to inspire in others. We find a wealth of wisdom from those who have served, from which we can forge a strong sense of community. Veterans’ journeys are often filled with determination and motivation, our experiences can encourage not only those who have served but everyone around us.”

Our Forces Support Network are proud to be members and supporters of this vast community and EDF are proud to be a Forces Covenant Gold Employer - find out what it means to be a Forces Covenant Employer
