About the Role

Join us as a Station Guide at Hartlepool Power Station, where you'll be the face and voice of our station, delivering engaging presentations and site tours to diverse groups. This role offers flexible hours and the chance to educate and inspire the public, businesses, and local schools.

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll be the ambassador of Hartlepool Power Station, delivering presentations and site tours to various groups, including the public, businesses, and educational institutions. You'll need to be quick-thinking, friendly, and confident in all aspects of the role, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.

This role is offered as a permanent, annualised hours contract. We’re recruiting for 8- or 16-hour contracts per week – please specify which one you’re applying for. The hours would normally be worked Monday – Friday however, the demand of tours may occasionally, require you to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and additional hours to your contracted hours.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

The salary range associated with this role is £29,074.00 pro rota. You’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What You’ll Be Doing

As a Station Guide, you'll be the face and voice of Hartlepool Power Station and EDF, ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors throughout their visit. You'll represent the station at external events, delivering presentations to various groups, from businesses to educational institutions. You'll support educational groups through centre activities and station tours, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and work with the Visitor Centre Co-ordinator to promote and manage EDF's reputation in the local community.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a friendly and approachable person who can be flexible with the days they work each week. You’ll need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn about the world of nuclear energy. You’ll need to be IT literate, able to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook competently, and have excellent communication and customer service skills. Most of your time will be spent on station delivering tours, each lasting approximately 2 hours, walking around the station with tour groups.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
