The Opportunity
As a Senior Analyst in the Market Analysis team here at EDF, you will play a crucial role in driving performance, informing trading strategies, and providing forecasts to the wider business.
The Market Analysis team sits at the heart of the EDF Wholesale Market Services business, supporting short and long-term trading, and providing essential market intelligence to the wider company. We deliver several business-critical services: providing forecasts, informing strategies and driving performance in short and long-term markets.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll create the daily trading strategies for our portfolio of batteries, provide supply margin and price forecasts to our traders, and work alongside the trading team to identify areas where commercial performance can be improved.
You will deliver the daily forward curves, model curve power prices and margins, and identify and communicate market risks and opportunities. You will also have opportunities to propose and deliver change, to further enhance the service we provide whether that’s through the development of our price models and optimisation tools, or by improving how we measure and report performance.
As a Senior Analyst, you will become involved in or lead n projects that will require collaboration with other Wholesale Market Service teams, Sales & Marketing and Generation.
Who you are
Joining as a Senior Analyst, you will have broad knowledge of the GB energy markets and an understanding of other areas of the energy industry, with experience in modelling, forecasting and reporting.
With an analytical background, you will have experience with Microsoft Excel and programming languages such as VBA and Python. Ideally, you will understand how to manage, query and use large datasets to produce value-add analysis. You will be skilled at identifying patterns and meaning in data, with the ability to communicating findings effectively.
We’re looking for somebody with excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and technical skills and a keen interest in the rapidly developing GB energy markets.
