Senior Finance Analyst
Full-Time, Permanent. Contractual Location: Satellite Delivery Centre – Minimum 3 days a week in office.
Step into a career where your financial expertise helps shape one of Europe’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. At EDF UK, we’re looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to play a pivotal role in the delivery of Hinkley Point C, a landmark in low-carbon energy generation. If you’re ready to influence strategic decisions and drive financial performance in a dynamic, high-impact environment, this could be your next big move.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As a Senior Finance Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of HPC’s financial operations, supporting the Financial Control Manager and working closely with programme and functional leads. You’ll help ensure robust financial governance, deliver insightful analysis, and empower stakeholders to make informed decisions. Based in our Bridgwater Satellite Office (minimum three days a week), you’ll collaborate across finance, commercial, and project control teams to drive performance and accountability.
Your role will be instrumental in maintaining financial control and transparency across one of the UK’s largest infrastructure investments. You’ll be empowered to challenge assumptions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, all while supporting the delivery of a project that’s shaping the future of energy.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
In addition to a competitive salary of £64,000, we offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be a trusted partner to the Financial Control Manager, providing strategic financial insight and supporting internal and external stakeholders with clear, actionable commentary. Your work will help ensure financial decisions are grounded in robust analysis and aligned with project goals.
You’ll review budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, challenging assumptions and identifying risks and opportunities. Your focus on value for money will help drive cost efficiencies and ensure financial plans are both realistic and effective.
From cash forecasting and audit support to coaching teams on financial best practices, you’ll play a key role in embedding a culture of financial excellence. You’ll also step in as deputy for the Financial Control Manager when needed, ensuring continuity and confidence in financial operations.
Who You Are
You’re a commercially astute finance professional with a knack for building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders. Your communication skills allow you to present complex financial ideas clearly and confidently, whether in writing or in person.
You bring a blend of logic and intuition to problem-solving, with a deep understanding of financial processes and a sharp eye for detail. You’re action-oriented, customer-focused, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your knowledge of the industry and external factors helps you anticipate challenges and guide strategic decisions.
Ideally, you’re a fully or partly qualified accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA) with experience in business partnering and performance management. Familiarity with tools like SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI, and ECOSYS is a plus. Above all, you’re someone who leads by example, champions continuous improvement, and shares our commitment to delivering a better energy future.
Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
Closing date for applications is Sunday 24th August, interviews will follow shortly after.
