The Opportunity

As a Radiological Protection Engineer, you’ll help develop the radiological protection arrangements for delivery of commissioning and operations at Hinkley Point C. You’ll contribute to one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects while supporting our journey towards An Electric Britain

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this role is based in #Bridgwater, with regular visits to the Hinkley Point C site. You’ll work with technical specialists, operational teams and key stakeholders across the project.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your specialist expertise through structured training. Working alongside industry experts, regulators and project teams, you’ll help establish world-class radiological protection standards for future nuclear operations.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Radiological Protection Engineer with proven radiological protection expertise in a complex or high-hazard environment and experience working with a range of technical stakeholders. Ideally, you would hold a degree qualification, or equivalent, in a science-related discipline. Do you enjoy...

  • Applying radiological protection principles within a complex environment
  • Creating and delivering practical, effective radiation safety arrangements that protect people and ensure compliance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017.
  • Providing radiological protection advice for nuclear operations, commissioning and construction environments
  • Working in a dynamic and supportive team, where individual development is prioritised and opportunities are available to broaden your experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing radiological protection advice and guidance to support compliance with legal and organisational requirements
  • Working in the field with Commissioning and Operations teams to provide radiological protection leadership
  • Supporting the specification of radiological protection facilities and procurement of radiological instrumentation and equipment
  • Supporting the development of radiological protection standards, training and operational capability across Hinkley Point C
  • Promoting best practice and a strong safety culture across construction, commissioning and future operations
  • Working with regulators, industry groups and project stakeholders to support project objectives
