About the Role

Full-time, permanent position based at HPC initially with the objective to relocate to France

Do you have experience as a Project Manager? Do you speak French and English? Do you want to lead complex infrastructure that will shape the UK’s energy future for generations?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Project Manager here at Hinkley Point C!

The opportunity

Put your skills and dedication to good use and help us build the next generation of EPR/EPR2 nuclear power plants in Europe, starting with Hinkley Point C in Somerset, England, followed by a progression of your career at one of our EPR2 projects in France, such as Penly, Bugey, or Gravelines. This is your chance to be part of a significant program shaping the future of the French energy market and nuclear sector.

You will initially join EDF Energy UK to spend a few years at the HPC site in the south-west of England. Following this, you will move to EDF SA in France and join the team responsible for delivering the planned EPR2 projects across the country.

Both experiences will give you an opportunity to oversee activities within your area of expertise and make sure project objectives are met to the highest standards.

Pay, benefits, and culture

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer flexible benefits that support our employees’ physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. Examples include: a market-leading company pension scheme, a bonus plan, health cover, electric vehicle leasing, mental health support and employee discounts.

We will value the difference you bring and give you opportunities to thrive and succeed.

What you will be doing…

As an Area Project Manager reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will play a central role in delivering a complex package of works within the Area Delivery organisation. You’ll manage the full project scope, lead multidisciplinary teams, and ensure seamless integration with wider delivery activities. This position offers significant exposure to international collaboration, contract management, and large‑scale nuclear construction within a highly regulated environment.

You will be:

  • Leading the delivery of a major installation programme of c.6,000 components, coordinating Tier 1 contractors, designers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely and compliant execution.
  • Managing an international matrix team, maintaining interfaces with EDF France and key HPC stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication across all delivery partners.
  • Overseeing contract performance, including contractor management, NEC contract administration, financial governance, change control and supply chain oversight to maintain Nuclear Safety.
  • Monitoring progress from design through to installation, tracking milestones, budget, risks and change, and providing clear reporting and escalation to the Senior Project Manager.
  • Driving robust management of design changes, technical queries, NCR resolution and quality assurance to protect live contracts and installation schedules.
  • Building strong relationships across site teams (e.g., Area Engineering, JDO) and manufacturing interfaces to ensure integrated delivery aligned with HPC safety, quality and programme requirements.

Who you are…

We’re looking for a Project Manager who can thrive in complex, highly regulated environments and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver safely on time and within budget. Are you experienced in…

  • Delivering technically complex projects in regulated sectors such as nuclear, ensuring high standards of safety, security and environmental performance.
  • Managing contractors, consultants and multinational stakeholders across large‑scale construction programmes.
  • Applying project management methodologies (e.g., APM, Prince2) and using planning, estimating, scheduling and risk management tools.
  • Leading teams through full project lifecycles, driving change control, financial management and effective decision‑making.
  • Working within CDM Regulations, navigating site‑based challenges and maintaining strong communication, influencing and facilitation skills.
  • Operating within structured contract environments, including NEC, while collaborating across diverse engineering and delivery teams.

This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to one of the most ambitious energy projects in Europe. Join us and make an impact on the future of energy.

As this role will ultimately be based in France, you must be ready to relocate and achieve professional-level proficiency in French by that time.

Closing date: 16th February 2026
