About the Role

Ready to shape the future of renewable energy by building commercial partnerships that truly make a difference? Do you enjoy turning market insight into meaningful deals that accelerate low-carbon generation across the UK? Join a team where your ambition, expertise and individuality can create real impact. At EDF, Success is Personal.

The Opportunity

As an Originator within EDF’s Business & Wholesale Services (BWS), you’ll play a key role in growing our renewable energy portfolio—working across large developer and corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs). You’ll identify opportunities, structure innovative commercial solutions, and lead negotiations that bring new low-carbon generation to life. It’s a role where your ideas and expertise directly support our customers and strengthen EDF’s leadership in the energy market as we help drive the transition towards An Electric Britain.

You’ll join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover), with a salary starting of at least £60,000 per annum. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, with the opportunity to attend our office in #London (Nova North) once a month. Alongside this, you’ll benefit from a collaborative environment that values autonomy and empowers you to work in a way that suits you best.

Working closely with teams across EDF—from Product Development to Marketing—you’ll help shape strategy, influence product innovation, and maximise long-term value creation. You’ll engage with key players across the UK renewables market, continuously improving our portfolio and ensuring we remain at the forefront of a fast-moving, complex energy landscape.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a commercially driven Originator who combines strong market knowledge with a collaborative, proactive mindset. You’ll be someone who builds trusted relationships, spots opportunities, and approaches challenges with curiosity and integrity. Are you experienced in…

  • Structuring and negotiating complex commercial energy agreements (PPAs or similar)
  • Building and maintaining relationships to deliver against ambitious business development targets
  • UK electricity markets, including low carbon instruments such as CfD, ROC, and REGO
  • Analysing market trends, pricing structures, and commercial risk
  • Identifying new business opportunities and engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Originating and structuring PPA deals across large developers and corporate clients
  • Leading commercial negotiations and securing internal and external buy-in
  • Managing and optimising a portfolio of renewable energy agreements
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop innovative products and market propositions
  • Building relationships across the UK renewables ecosystem to identify growth opportunities

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary of at least £60,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that’s unique to you. Here, Success is Personal – it’s your journey, powered by us.

Everyone is welcome at EDF; we’re committed to building a workforce that reflects gender balance, social mobility, and inclusion of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and those with disabilities. As a Disability Confident employer, we will support applicants requiring adjustments.
