The Opportunity
As a Meter Operative, you’ll install and maintain advanced metering solutions that help business customers understand their energy use. Your work contributes directly to our journey towards An Electric Britain through safe, accurate metering.
You’ll join us on a salary starting of £37,200 per annum. This is a remote role covering the #IV and #AB areas. You’ll spend your days travelling across your region, handling a variety of metering tasks. Overnight stays may be needed occasionally. We’ll provide all tools, equipment, uniform, PPE, a company vehicle, laptop and mobile phone.
You’ll gain experience across 3‑phase, multi‑phase and smart metering, with opportunities to develop further into LVCT, HVCT and more specialist technical areas.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a Meter Operative who values safety, clear communication and quality workmanship. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:
- Electrical or metering qualifications
- Experience in 3‑phase or multi‑phase electrical installation, or smart meter installation
- Experience in 3PH exchange
- Experience in new connections
- Experience working on LV/CT or HV equipment
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing smart, AMR and advanced meters
- Completing 3‑phase and multi‑phase installation work
- Handling new connections and meter exchanges
- Maintaining high standards of safety and compliance
- Supporting customers by providing clear information on site
