Maintenance Technician
The Opportunity
Heysham 1 currently have opportunities within our Maintenance Department for Technicians to join the team and support the preventative and response maintenance needs at the Power Station.
We’re looking for Maintenance Technicians to join our team, who can demonstrate good technical skills, team working, good communication and a willingness to work flexibly.
Pay, benefits and culture
The salary range associated with this role is between £39,543 - £53,385 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What you’ll be doing
The roles and responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician include:
- Carrying out Mechanical, Instrument or Electrical maintenance activities based on your discipline safely, in accordance with procedures, updating these as required and feeding back on issues found with the plant
- Completing maintenance records in a timely manner
- Ensuring maintenance activities do not adversely affect the environment
- Providing feedback to improve the effectiveness of the maintenance programme
- Reporting safety, environmental and plant issues in a timely manner
- Interacting with your team leader on job progress frequently
- Actively participating in personal performance appraisals and delivery of personal development plans.
Who you are
A background in Maintenance is essential, ideally with experience in Power Station, heavy industrial or manufacturing environments. As a minimum, you’ll be trained to and received NVQ level 3 qualification/Time served apprenticeship (or equivalent) in a Mechanical, Instrumentation or Electrical role.
We are looking for a highly motivated professionals, focussed on delivering high levels of plant availability through timely value-added maintenance of the plant, ideally with Instrumentation or electrical experience.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
