Bristol (hybrid working)
Do you have expertise in quality management and continuous improvement?
Can you lead teams effectively while managing quality-related issues in a highly regulated environment?
If so, join EDF as a Lead Quality Engineer and make a meaningful impact to the most exciting infrastructure project in the UK!
The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.
As a Lead Quality Engineer for the EPR-E HPC nuclear project, you will oversee engineering/design deliverables, manage quality-related issues, and report on quality metrics. You will contribute to the oversight of the Integrated Management System, ensuring compliance with contract quality requirements and working closely with the Project Quality Manager to drive continuous improvement.

Additionally, you will ensure the deployment of Quality processes and instructions within project teams, providing necessary training and awareness sessions.
Your role includes setting quality targets, monitoring project quality management, and utilising root cause analysis for resolving non-conformances and corrective actions. You’ll develop and maintain a network to handle Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and manage a team of Quality Engineers.
Who you are
As a Lead Quality Engineer, You'll have a solid background in quality- focused engineering.
Proficiency in continuous improvement tools such as 8D and a strong ability in root cause analysis are important. You should have a solid understanding of Quality Management Systems and working within regulated environments—experience in the nuclear industry is highly valued but not essential.
