The Opportunity
As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you’ll be part of the Process Computing Group, a dynamic team of 18 engineers and technicians. You’ll work on maintaining and improving control systems and instrumentation that are critical to the station’s operations.

Pay, Benefits & Culture
The salary range associated with this role is between £45,641 - £81263. You’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll design, implement, and maintain instrumentation and control systems that underpin safe and reliable power generation. Your work will directly impact the performance and safety of our operations.
You’ll configure and troubleshoot computer-based systems including PLCs, SCADA platforms, and field instrumentation. Working closely with teams across maintenance, operations, and engineering, you’ll drive continuous improvement.
From commissioning and testing to documentation and compliance, you’ll ensure every upgrade and installation meets the highest standards of safety and regulation.
Who You Are
You bring a solid foundation with an HNC in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related discipline. Your experience with industrial control systems such as Ovation, Siemens, or Allen-Bradley sets you apart.
Your understanding of instrumentation, signal processing, and control logic is matched by your proactive approach to problem-solving and system reliability. You thrive in collaborative environments and are driven by innovation.
Ideally, you’ll have a background in nuclear, energy, or heavy industry, and be familiar with cybersecurity in control systems and digital transformation.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC) which will, ordinarily, require you to have British residency for the last 5 years.
