About the Role

Aztec West, Bristol, Hybrid, minimum 3 days a week in office and occasional international travel to France & Germany.

Are you ready to shape the future of nuclear energy in the UK? If you're a systems engineer with a passion for fluid mechanics and thermal hydraulics. This is your chance to make a real impact.

Join EDF UK and be part of a pioneering team driving innovation and excellence in new nuclear build projects.

The Opportunity

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.

As a Fluid System Technical Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Hinkley Point C project, with potential involvement in Sizewell C. Based in Bristol, you’ll collaborate with leading experts from Edvance France and other EPR-E discipline departments.

We offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle. We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll coordinate a team of system engineers to ensure project priorities are met and technical standards are upheld. You’ll oversee and perform technical checks on the design and documentation of fluid systems, resolving open points and managing design changes.

You’ll also contribute to the Sizewell C replication strategy, analysing impacts from design evolution and procurement changes, and overseeing the production of deliverables for SZC.

Reporting operationally to the System Group Lead and functionally to the Fluid & HVAC Systems discipline manager, you’ll occasionally travel to France and Germany to collaborate with international teams.

Who you are

You’ll hold a degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering or an equivalent qualification, with extensive experience in process engineering or supporting the nuclear operating fleet. Your background includes relevant experience in the nuclear industry and the ability to manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines.

You possess excellent interpersonal skills and communicate clearly and confidently. You’re proactive in engaging with colleagues, including those based in remote offices across Europe.

Ideally, you bring knowledge of EPR system design sequences, Instrumentation & Control, or Safety Classification sequences. Experience in managing technical and contractual topics, understanding fluid systems or equipment, and familiarity with UK licensing requirements are advantageous. French language skills are a bonus.

If you’re ready to lead and innovate in fluid systems engineering, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!

Closing date for applications: 5th September 2025
