The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As an Environmental Advisor, you’ll ensure that environmental legislation and permit requirements are met across the HPC site. You’ll work closely with contractors and stakeholders to identify improvements, maintain compliance, and promote best practices. This is a site-based role where your guidance will help shape a greener future.

That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the eyes and ears of environmental compliance on site—conducting inspections, offering expert advice, and ensuring that contractors meet environmental standards. Your work will help prevent incidents and promote sustainable practices.
You’ll support audits, review environmental management plans, maintain permit compliance, and lead investigations into environmental issues. Your insights will shape how we manage compliance at site.
This role also involves working with external partners and regulators, contributing to tenders, and helping to manage small packages of work. Your influence will be felt across the entire HPC site.
The role requires occasional weekend working to support site operations and ensure continuous environmental oversight.
Who You Are
You’ve got expertise in an environmental or related discipline, with hands-on experience in a construction environment. You understand UK environmental legislation and have worked within an Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO14001.
You’re confident working independently, with strong communication and influencing skills. You know how to build relationships with contractors and regulators alike, and you’re comfortable interpreting environmental data and leading investigations.
Experience with soil and materials management or EPR permit compliance is a bonus—but your passion for environmental excellence is what really sets you apart.
Applications close for this role on Friday 4th July, with interviews following shortly after.
