As a Domain Solution Architect for Enterprise Systems, you’ll help drive the transition towards An Electric Britain by shaping the strategies, roadmaps and high‑level designs that underpin our critical nuclear business systems. You’ll influence senior stakeholders, provide architectural assurance, and lead thinking across cloud, integration and enterprise platforms. 

Based at our #Gloucester Business Park, you’ll follow a hybrid working model with 2–3 days each week in the office. You’ll also travel across the fleet when needed. You’ll join a collaborative and supportive team where your ideas will shape future platforms, investments and technology direction. 

Role Purpose 

As Domain Solution Architect for Enterprise Systems, you are the senior architectural authority for a critical portfolio of enterprise and nuclear business systems. You work in close partnership with Product Management teams to shape and assure the solution and technical design for key Enterprise Systems, ensuring they are fit for purpose, secure, and aligned to business outcomes. 

You own the technology roadmaps and strategic plans for these systems, providing clear direction on future-state architecture, investment priorities, and technical evolution. Through active engagement with delivery and programme teams, you support and assure the technology implementation programmes that underpin our Enterprise Systems, ensuring solutions are delivered coherently, sustainably, and in line with enterprise architecture standards 

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Owning future‑state architectural direction, roadmaps and technology strategies for key enterprise and nuclear systems 

  • Leading early architectural engagement to shape problem statements, conceptual designs and solution options 

  • Building expertise in Business process and business use of our Enterprise Systems and technologies 

  • Producing high‑level designs and key architectural artefacts to support business cases and delivery planning 

  • Acting as design authority throughout delivery, ensuring coherence, technical quality and alignment to standards 

  • Engaging suppliers and senior stakeholders to influence decisions and drive effective technical outcomes. You will be able to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, technology partners and system vendors 

Who You Are 

We’re looking for a Domain Solution Architect who brings strategic thinking, technical credibility and clear communication skills. Are you experienced in…? 

  • Educated to degree level or HNC and able to demonstrate significant experience in a large Enterprise business (Energy sector knowledge beneficial) 

  • Strong Architectural & Solution design experience, ideally supported by training or qualification or Industry Certifications (MS Azure qualifications desirable). Good knowledge of technologies, Solution design, Solution best practice and innovative trends in IT and Technology 

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of teams 

  • Experience in modernisation of complex legacy IT Enterprise Systems in a large Enterprise Business 

  • TOGAF qualified or aware 

  • Knowledge and experience of Enterprise modelling tools such as LEANIX desirable 

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to operate in highly complex, uncertain and ambiguous environments 

  • Leading discussions and decision‑making on architectural issues using standards and best practice 

  • Producing project documentation to required standards 

  • Maintaining excellent awareness of relevant IT technologies 

  • Applying industry standards such as ISO27001, NCSC Cyber Framework 

  • Excellent communication and Influencing skills with experience of negotiating with senior stakeholders up to C‑suite level 

  • IT strategic planning, budgeting and financial acumen 

  • Collaborating effectively with suppliers and internal teams 

  • Developing persuasive architectural arguments to support solution selection 

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC), which will ordinarily require you to have lived and worked in the UK for the last five years. 

Appointment is also subject to the successful completion of required background checks. 

Pay, Benefits and Culture 

We are offering a starting salary of between £71,786 and £93,106, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.
