About the Role

Ready to shape the commercial decisions that support Britain’s transition towards An Electric Britain? Energised by financial modelling, commercial analysis and contributing to confident pricing decisions that impact millions of customers? At EDF, Success is Personal – and with us, your career journey is yours to shape.

The Opportunity

As a Commercial Specialist, you’ll play a key role in our Commercial & Performance team – the commercial engine behind pricing, growth and profitability across our Retail business. Your work will directly influence how we design propositions, shape margin strategy and support EDF’s wider transition towards An Electric Britain. You’ll play an important part in ensuring our propositions remain financially sound, customer‑focused and competitive in a fast‑changing market.

You’ll join us on a salary starting from circa £44,800 per annum depending on the experience you bring. This is a flexible role with hybrid working, and you’ll occasionally travel to our #Hove office when required.

You’ll have the opportunity to build deep expertise in commercial finance, pricing and proposition analysis. From influencing key commercial decisions to shaping the financial assessment of future‑facing propositions – including EV tariffs, heat pump propositions and flexibility services – you’ll contribute to meaningful decisions that support our customers and EDF’s long‑term success. You’ll develop financial models, gain insight into market dynamics and be supported to grow your skills as part of a collaborative, commercially minded team.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Commercial Specialist who brings strong financial capability, curiosity and a drive to add value through insightful, commercially grounded analysis. Are you experienced in…?

  • Building and interpreting financial models (e.g. discounted cash flow, sensitivity analysis, profitability modelling)
  • Conducting margin analysis, cost assessment or commercial appraisal
  • Reviewing financial performance and drawing clear, actionable conclusions
  • Analysing propositions or pricing structures from a commercial viability perspective
  • Working collaboratively with finance, commercial, product or operational teams
  • Interpreting market or regulatory information to support decision-making

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building, owning and maintaining financial models that support pricing, margin strategy and investment decisions
  • Assessing the commercial viability of propositions, including EV tariffs, time‑of‑use propositions and flexibility services
  • Analysing cost drivers, margin trends and performance data to guide commercial recommendations
  • Forecasting customer volumes, energy demand and portfolio performance
  • Supporting commercial governance by clarifying financial assumptions, risks and opportunities

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary of circa £44,800 per annum depending on the experience you bring, potential for an annual bonus, and a market‑leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that’s unique to you. Here, Success is Personal – it’s your journey, powered by us.
