About the Role

Architect Engineer

This is your chance to play a pivotal role in one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. As an Architect Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of delivering the HPC Access contracts, ensuring seamless integration and progress across multiple workstreams.

The Opportunity

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, responsible for the design and realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide. At Hinkley Point C (HPC), we’re building two new nuclear reactors to provide low-carbon electricity for around six million homes.

As an Architect Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of the HPC Access contracts, working across multiple teams and topics. You’ll also play a key role in preparing for the Sizewell C (SZC) project, contributing to early design studies and replication strategies.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

Alongside a salary starting from £72,000 (grade C) dependent on experience, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal. We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll support and oversee the fulfilment and progression of the HPC Access contracts, ensuring alignment and integration between teams. You’ll take ownership of multi-contract + complex topics, support Contract Engineering Leads (CELs), lead the Transverse Topics team, and act as a key reviewer for governance items and contract documentation.

Your role will involve managing the Access Configuration Engineer’s scope, overseeing the Master Doors List, and supporting TAGS methodology and governance. You’ll also be the main point of contact for SZC Access, reporting KPIs and helping onboard and upskill new team members.

This is a senior technical role without line management responsibilities, but with significant influence and ownership over cross-functional topics. You’ll report directly to the Group Lead and play a vital role in driving progress and resolving complex engineering challenges.

Who You Are

You hold extensive knowledge in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and bring a strong understanding of EPR or general PWR design. Your background includes experience in nuclear mechanical equipment design, manufacture, document surveillance, and operations, along with knowledge of equipment interfaces and contract management.

You’re confident navigating change-management and commercial systems such as UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, and Teamcenter. You’re fluent in English, and if you speak French, that’s a bonus. You’re also IT literate and comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

If you’re ready to take on a high-impact role in a world-class engineering project, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date for applications is Thursday 12th June, with interviews following shortly after.
