The salary range associated with this role is between £80,501 - £123,162. You’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.  We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

As a senior engineering leader, you will be accountable for delivering technically complex projects within an established governance framework. Your focus will be on driving execution—bringing together the right people, data, and technical insight to enable timely, prioritised, and risk-informed decisions that keep the programme on track.

You will lead and empower a multidisciplinary team, ensuring work is effectively delegated and aligned with project priorities. With a strong grasp of Control & Instrumentation (C&I) engineering standards—particularly those relevant to nuclear safety systems—you will provide technical oversight across the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to commissioning and LTO.

You will work closely with the Technical Programme Manager and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges, manage interfaces, and ensure that engineering solutions meet safety, regulatory, and performance requirements. Your ability to navigate complex technical landscapes, engage in difficult conversations, and maintain delivery momentum will be critical to success.

Who You Are

You are a technically credible and delivery-focused engineering leader with a strong background in Control & Instrumentation systems. Your experience includes delivering complex engineering programmes within structured governance frameworks, and you bring deep technical knowledge of both nuclear safety-related and conventional instrumentation technologies.

You lead with confidence, empowering your team while maintaining oversight of technical quality and performance. Your decision-making is informed, timely, and risk-aware, drawing on input from diverse disciplines and operational insights. You understand the importance of safety cases and how engineering decisions impact regulatory compliance.

Your communication skills enable you to engage effectively with stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences. You have experience working with supply chain partners and are comfortable with technical specifications, supplier selection, and quality assurance. You hold or are working towards Chartered Engineer status and have a degree in Engineering or a related scientific field. An interest in the commercial aspects of project delivery and experience in regulated environments such as the nuclear sector would be beneficial.

Closing date for applications is 28th July, interviews will follow shortly after.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC) which will, ordinarily, require you to have British residency for the last 5 years.
