The opportunity

As a Quality Lead, you’ll be responsible for establishing and managing a robust Supply Chain Quality Management System (QMS) for Asset Operations and Business Change Projects. Working alongside the Business-wide Quality Manager, you’ll focus on ensuring high-quality standards while maintaining agility in costs and operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee and govern quality requirements for all assets.
  • Support projects and assets by managing part arrivals, supplier quality assessments, warehouse evaluations, and process improvements where dedicated quality resources aren’t available.
  • Act as the link between supply chain and commercial teams, handling Non-Conformance Management Reports (NCMR) and supplier quality performance tracking.
  • Maintain strong communication with CTO’s quality team, ensuring seamless information flow.
  • Develop and support an engineering asset operations team to drive circular economy initiatives, ensuring efficient repair, reuse, or controlled disposal of parts within the IFS system.
  • Establish and refine processes and procedures within the Business Management System (BMS) to measure quality performance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

As Quality Lead, you’ll establish and lead a Supply Chain Quality Team within Asset Operations, driving improved supplier quality monitoring and performance. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Setting quality objectives aligned with business strategy.
  • Developing and refining processes, procedures, and specifications to enhance quality standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and international quality standards.
  • Managing Supply Chain Non-Conformance Reports (NCMR) to drive accountability.
  • Monitoring quality performance, producing reports, and implementing improvements.
  • Overseeing handover processes at key project stages.
  • Leading procurement teams to define and uphold supplier quality requirements.
  • Benchmarking EDF-RE UK’s performance against the wider EDF fleet.
  • Providing quality training for peers, managers, and stakeholders.
  • Investigating root causes of quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conducting internal and external audits of suppliers and contractors.
  • Collaborating with vendors to ensure compliance with EDF-RE standards and continuous improvement.
  • Managing Corrective Action Plans (CAP) and tracking quality trends.
  • Sharing lessons learned and best practices across the EDF group.

What do you need to be great at this role?

We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. If you’re passionate about driving excellence, influencing stakeholders, and making a real impact, this role is for you!

  • 10+ years in Quality Leadership, with a strong track record of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Understanding of Asset Operations in Renewables (desirable).
  • Strong communicator, confident in engaging with Senior Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 31000 & ISO 45001.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, project management tools, and risk management.

Skills & Mindset

A problem-solver with a keen eye for identifying and resolving challenges.
Ability to write clear, concise reports that drive decision-making.
Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, fostering collaboration and shared success.
A natural leader, skilled at motivating teams and driving change.
Experienced in risk and change management, both technical and non-technical.
