Multi-Year Outage Coordinator
An exciting and rewarding role has arisen for the role of Multi-Year Outage Co-Ordinator at our Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station in Suffolk.
Sizewell B is currently the UK’s only Pressurised Water Reactor. We are designed to run at full period for a period of 18 months and then shutdown to refuel and complete essential maintenance, this is known as an Outage. The Outage Department prepares, plans and delivers these multi-million pound projects to ensure that Sizewell B delivers maximum power output and continues to provide low-carbon electricity to millions of homes and businesses across the UK.
The opportunity
As Multi-Year Outage Coordinator in the Multi-Year Outage Team, your role is to work collaboratively with the other station departments to manage the long term strategy and planning of Sizewell B outages, and coordinate the medium term outage preparations, ensuring that we are ready for our future outages.. You will be engaging with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the station, to ensure our outage goals are met, and scope, budget and duration requirements are optimised. You may be required to work a non-standard shift pattern during the outage, which may include nights if required.
Pay, benefits and culture
We offer a competitive salary, with a permanent contract under the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The salary range associated with this role is between £45,641 - £95,993. You will be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you will be doing
The Multi-Year Outage Coordinator is responsible for driving the long-term strategy for outage planning and coordinating the efforts of the Station to prepare outages on a 15-year look ahead, including:
- Managing the creation and regular update of the Sizewell B Multi-Year Outage Plan, looking at the scope of outages over the next 15 years
- Influencing scope optimisations and maintenance strategies
- Analysing and optimising costs and durations, identifying critical path activities and significant interfaces to allow early problem resolution and effective business planning
- Working with stakeholders from other Station departments to define the significant scope, identify risks and their business impacts, and develop mitigation and optimisation strategies
- Coordinating the preparation of medium-term outages across the station
- Coordinating Lessons Learned and driving the associated actions to be addressed for future outages.
Who you are
We would love to hear from you if you have Project Management experience or experience of leading a multi-discipline team in a delivery environment. Great communication skills, attention to detail with a calm, measured approach, coupled with the ability to effectively prioritise are all essential. Discretion when handling sensitive information is important, alongside the ability to challenge and adopt a questioning attitude to ensure that safety remains our overriding priority.
As a minimum, you will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent) and holding a relevant Degree may be an advantage. You should have the enthusiasm, drive, ownership and ability to facilitate change, for which excellent interpersonal skills are paramount. This will also mean you should have the ability to manage cross-functional working groups, encouraging a team ethos to help develop and deliver effective work programmes.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
