Bridgwater or Bristol (hybrid working)
A career that will deliver change. Together, we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero.
Are you ready to play a key role in powering the UK’s low-carbon future? As a Spares Engineer at EDF UK, you’ll be at the heart of one of the most exciting and ambitious infrastructure projects in Europe—Hinkley Point C. This is your chance to shape the future of energy while developing your career in a dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As a Spares Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of the Hinkley Point C operational Supply Chain Strategy. You’ll manage work packages across the spares engineering scope, including strategies for system spares, obsolescence, and standardisation. Your work will involve technical analysis, procurement, and stakeholder engagement, all while keeping a close eye on budget and timelines.
You’ll be part of the Spares and Procurement Engineering Team within the Commissioning and Operational (ComOps) Department. This team is responsible for executing maintenance strategies that will keep HPC running smoothly now and into the future.

That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll lead the delivery of spares reviews, ensuring they align with commissioning and maintenance needs. Your work will help shape how we manage and procure both strategic and non-strategic spares, ensuring readiness for key project milestones.
You’ll take ownership of obsolescence management, process documentation, and improvement plans. You’ll also ensure training profiles are in place and that the team is equipped with the right skills to succeed.
Collaboration is key—you’ll work closely with other departments, EDF’s wider nuclear business, and external suppliers. You’ll also draw on industry best practices to help make HPC a world-class performer in nuclear operations.
Who You Are
You’re a confident communicator who can build strong relationships with stakeholders across technical and functional areas. You bring experience in coaching or working within matrix teams, and you’re comfortable navigating complex project environments.
You understand spares optimisation, inventory management, and procurement processes. You’re able to interpret technical drawings and data, and you’ve worked with asset management systems. You’re also skilled at writing clear, compelling technical reports and business cases.
Whether your experience comes from the nuclear sector or another industry, what matters most is your ability to plan, deliver, and adapt in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Applications close for this role on Tuesday 29th July, with interviews following shortly after.
Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
