A career that will deliver change. Together, we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero.
Aztec West, Bristol (hybrid working)
Fixed- term contract
Are you ready to shape the future of nuclear energy in the UK? Join us at EDF UK as a Safety Project Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Europe. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team driving innovation, safety, and sustainability at the heart of the Sizewell C development.
The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.
As Safety Project Manager, you’ll coordinate technical contributions across multiple disciplines, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll be instrumental in managing the safety scope for Sizewell C, supporting both strategic planning and day-to-day execution, while fostering collaboration across UK and French teams.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
The salary range associated with this role starts from £64,000, depending on experience (Grade C). We offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle. We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll lead the coordination of safety-related technical activities, ensuring alignment across disciplines and maintaining oversight of delivery schedules and budgets. You’ll manage the specification process for the annual Sizewell C Task Order, liaising with contract management teams and updating key documentation to reflect evolving project needs.
You’ll support the Safety Discipline team with technical queries, monitor weekly progress, and contribute to monthly budget gap analyses. Your insights will help shape corrective actions and ensure smooth interactions with clients and regulatory bodies. You’ll also play a key role in kick-off meetings, ensuring expectations are clearly defined and all necessary inputs are secured.
Working closely with the Safety Manager, you’ll provide valuable input into performance reporting and help maintain high standards across all safety deliverables. Your work will directly impact the success of one of the UK’s most critical energy projects.
Who You Are
You bring an engineering degree (or equivalent experience) and project management experience within the nuclear sector. You have excellent interpersonal skills, capable of communicating effectively across all levels of the organisation. Your proactive approach and ability to manage contractual topics make you a reliable and respected team member.
You’re highly organised, able to juggle multiple workstreams, and maintain clarity in complex environments. Fluency in English is essential, and familiarity with EPR or other PWR designs is a plus. Knowledge of nuclear safety and the ability to communicate in French would be beneficial, though not required.
Applications close for this role on Friday 19th September, with interviews following shortly after.
