The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
This is your chance to take on a pivotal role in a high-profile, fast-paced environment. You’ll be validating safety insights, producing detailed reports, and identifying trends that shape site-wide safety performance. From supporting contractor evaluations to leading investigations and contributing to the governance of our Integrated Management System, your work will directly influence the safe and successful delivery of this nationally significant project.

What You’ll Be Doing
As Safety Arrangements Lead, you’ll be a key player in ensuring the safety of everyone working at Hinkley Point C. You’ll validate and analyse safety data, track unreported events, and produce weekly and monthly reports that highlight trends and inform strategic decisions. Your insights will help shape the site’s safety culture and performance.
You’ll lead investigations into incidents, assign corrective actions, and present findings to senior governance forums. Your role will also involve evaluating contractors’ health and safety credentials during procurement, ensuring only the highest standards are upheld. You’ll support audit planning, assurance analysis, and contribute to the ongoing development of our Integrated Management System.
Your work will span across multiple systems and platforms, ensuring procedures are compliant and up to date. You’ll also engage with Communities of Best Practice, stay on top of legal and regulatory changes, and produce high-quality reports for a range of audiences, including the CEO’s office.
Who You Are
You’re a seasoned health and safety professional with experience in complex, high-risk environments; ideally within major infrastructure or energy projects. You bring a meticulous approach to analysing safety data, identifying trends, and producing insightful reports. You’re confident in challenging assumptions, validating insights, and presenting your findings to senior stakeholders.
You’ve led investigations, assigned corrective actions, and contributed to forums such as CARG and MSGG. You’re experienced in audit planning and execution, and you’ve played a key role in maintaining integrated management systems that meet legal and regulatory standards. You’ve also supported contractor evaluations, scoring health and safety submissions at various procurement stages.
You’re familiar with systems like Insight/Intelex, HICX, IMS, and Teamcenter, and you’re always up to date with the latest legal developments. You thrive in collaborative environments, contribute to best practice communities, and can tailor your communication to suit any audience. Most importantly, you bring a proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement in safety performance.
Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
