About the Role

The Opportunity

This 12 month Fixed Term Contract sits within the Supply Chain team in Customers Finance, overseeing supplier selection, commercial agreements, and key supplier relationships for Corporate & Customers Business Units.

You'll be part of a small, dedicated Governance & Performance team at the core of Supply Chain, ensuring compliance with policies, processes, and systems while driving continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Senior Manager for Supply Chain Governance & Performance, you'll play a vital role in maintaining robust governance and supporting the wider Customers Finance function, which reports to the UK Board.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you'll be at the heart of ensuring strong governance and continuous improvement within the Supply Chain function. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, maintaining, and improving key Supply Chain policies, processes, and supporting tools for the Corporate & Customers Supply Chain team and their stakeholders.
  • Providing guidance on process use and system adoption to ensure consistency and efficiency across the business.
  • Tracking and implementing improvement actions, using Lean principles to enhance processes, tools, and systems.
  • Managing and overseeing a common governance framework to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Producing reports on governance and process improvements to support decision-making.
  • Leading Supply Chain improvement projects, including system development and implementation.
  • Keeping appraised of any upcoming changes in the industry, regulation or legislation landscape, to advise on any likely impacts to the Business and/or the team
  • Managing a Supply Chain Governance Forum to align best practices across UK business units and coordinate responses to Group reporting.
  • Representing Corporate & Customers Supply Chain in risk and compliance forums.
  • Organising and delivering training for the Supply Chain team to support capability development.
  • Overseeing the offshore support team, ensuring they have clear processes and up-to-date documentation while acting as an escalation point when needed.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement, and driving collaboration across teams to enhance supply chain governance and performance.

Who you are

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring experience in managing governance policies and procedures, as well as writing, reviewing, and aligning business process and policy documentation within a large business environment. Your ability to navigate complex structures and ensure compliance will be key to your success.

You’ll have a strong foundation in project management, coordination, and facilitation, coupled with a good awareness of the latest supply chain practices. This includes supplier risk management, the use of technology, and developments in ESG—helping to ensure our supply chain remains robust, efficient, and future-focused.

Developing a detailed knowledge of our Supply Chain systems will be an important part of the role, enabling you to effectively deliver processes and support system developments and implementation projects. A structured and diligent approach to reviewing current practices, identifying improvements, and streamlining processes will be essential.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving and can balance the bigger strategic picture with hands-on execution. You’ll take ownership of tasks, working autonomously when needed, while ensuring your solutions align with wider business objectives.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be key, as you’ll be working with subject matter experts on complex issues, influencing and managing stakeholders at all levels, and fostering collaboration across teams.

Lastly, you’ll need strong IT skills, with at least an intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office applications and reporting capabilities to support data-driven decision-making.
