About the Role

The Opportunity

Are you ready to play a key role in driving EDF’s Zero Carbon Homes strategy forward?

As a Finance Business Partner within our Retail & ZCH Finance team, you’ll be at the heart of financial decision-making, shaping the future of sustainable living. Supporting our Zero Carbon Homes Finance Manager, you’ll provide critical insights that influence performance, ensuring we meet our strategic and financial EBIT targets.

Working closely with a team of finance professionals managing the end-to-end financial reporting of our Residential and Small Business markets, as well as our cutting-edge Zero Carbon Homes offering, you’ll be joining a dynamic team dedicated to delivering a greener, more sustainable future.

This is your chance to be at the forefront of finance and sustainability, influencing the future of low-carbon living while making a tangible impact on EDF’s success.

Pay, benefits and culture

We’re looking to offer the successful candidate a salary circa £44,800 DOE. Alongside your potential salary we’re offering a competitive benefits package including a market-leading pension scheme and a range of flexible benefits to support our people across all aspects of their lives.

Flexible working means you can work from home (if you wish) and we’ll provide a suite of IT equipment to ensure that you can work remotely comfortably and effectively.

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you’ll be doing

As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll be a trusted advisor, providing senior leaders with the financial insights they need to drive strategic decision-making. Your expertise will help shape the future of Zero Carbon Homes, ensuring we deliver on our ambitions while maintaining strong financial performance.

  • You'll play a key role in identifying cost-saving opportunities and margin improvement initiatives, working closely with Customers Finance and key stakeholders to enhance bottom-line performance.
  • You’ll own the end-to-end financial reporting for the Zero Carbon Homes Business Unit, delivering accurate Gross Margin and OPEX analysis, explaining variances, and ensuring robust financial insights.
  • Managing the consolidated financial reporting of our subsidiaries, EDF Heat Pumps and Contact Solar, you’ll work directly with their finance teams to ensure timely and accurate group reporting.
  • Your insights will be instrumental in delivering clear and impactful financial commentary to the Customers Finance Leadership Team, the Customers Executive, and Corporate Finance.
  • You’ll also present financial performance updates to a variety of senior stakeholders, up to director level, ensuring key decision-makers have the information they need.
  • Partnering with the ZCH Commercial Team, you’ll help develop accurate, insightful forecasts as part of both the Medium-Term Plan (MTP) and in-year forecasting cycles.
  • You’ll also take on ad-hoc tasks as needed, supporting ZCH, Customers Finance, and Corporate Finance in driving EDF’s Zero Carbon strategy forward.

Who you are

You’re not just looking for any finance role—you want to make a real impact. You thrive at the intersection of finance and strategy, using your analytical skills to influence key decisions and drive business performance. With a keen eye for detail, you ensure financial reporting is accurate and insightful, while your strategic mindset helps shape the bigger picture, guiding long-term success.

Communication comes naturally to you, and you build strong relationships across teams, confidently influencing senior stakeholders. You’re a problem solver at heart, always looking for ways to improve systems and processes, driving efficiency and innovation. While collaboration is key, you also work independently, managing multiple priorities with confidence and clarity.

You have strong Excel and financial modelling skills, and experience with Anaplan would be a plus. As a Chartered Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or someone actively working towards qualification, you’re committed to continuous development. Above all, you care about sustainability, understanding the importance of balancing financial, environmental, and social responsibility in every decision.

If you’re looking for a role where you can influence, innovate, and contribute to a greener future, this is your opportunity to be part of something bigger at EDF.
