Engineering Opportunities – Engineering Change process - Responsible Engineers (RE’s)

Our vacancies in the Engineering Department initially working in the Design Engineering Group at Sizewell B Power Station might just be for you!

The opportunity

We’re looking for Engineers who are already authorised within the engineering change process ideally as Responsible Engineers (RE’s) and or AV3/AV2 authorised engineers or engineers who have previously held any of these authorisations.

In our team, you’ll be ensuring Engineering Changes Modifications are safely and effectively implemented. You’ll be working within a team of safety conscious and highly motivated engineers to uphold company and industry standards.

We’re happy to discuss options around flexible working arrangements, specifically the split between home and site working, but also potentially part time working, please highlight in your application if this is something you're interested in.

Pay, benefits and culture

We are offering a starting salary of between £45,641 and £95,993 with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualification. What you’ll be doing

As one of our Design Engineering team members, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing Engineering Changes/Modifications.
  • Overseeing Implementation of Engineering Changes/Modifications
  • Closure of Engineering Changes/Modifications
  • Acting as Responsible Engineering for Engineering Changes/Modifications in the following areas -
      • Lifetime Extension
      • Plant Reliability Improvements
      • Sizewell C construction - EC’s affecting Sizewell B
      • Projects Investment Delivery related improvements

Who you are

The minimum qualification for this role is an HNC (or Level 4 equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline and it may be advantageous if you hold a relevant degree. You’ll need an understanding of engineering principles, although we have various levels of entry from experienced engineers through to recent graduates starting their careers in engineering.

We also encourage applications from all areas of engineering not just the nuclear industry, so this is ideal if you are looking for a change of career direction. Full and extensive training and support will be provided to the successful applicants.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
