About the Role

Bridgwater, Bristol, Gloucester, with some flexible working.

Are you ready to lead risk management in one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects? At EDF UK, we’re looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for project delivery to take on the challenge of managing risks in a highly regulated environment. If you thrive on leadership and strategic thinking, this could be your next big move.

The Opportunity

EDF is at the forefront of the UK's Nuclear New Build Programme, delivering Hinkley Point ‘C’ in Somerset and Sizewell ‘C’ in Suffolk. As the Delivery Risk Lead, you’ll be instrumental in managing and mitigating delivery risks across engineering, design, and commissioning phases.

Reporting to the HPC PMO Director, you’ll oversee the performance of the Delivery Risk Team, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs. You’ll also drive the consistent application of the HPC Delivery Risk Strategy across the project, embedding risk resources and aligning efforts across programmes and areas.

Pay, benefits and culture

With a competitive salary, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle. We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead risk management efforts across multiple project areas, supporting directors and teams to identify, assess, and control delivery risks. Your work will ensure that risks are clearly reported and actioned, contributing to the overall success of the project.

You’ll align delivery risks with portfolio risks, enabling comprehensive coverage and supporting executive-level reporting. You’ll also continuously improve risk management processes, provide training, and ensure the effective use of ARM Risk Management Software.

Your role will include producing accurate and timely risk and opportunity reports, supporting board-level reviews, and ensuring data integrity through Power-Bi reporting. You’ll represent the risk function during audits and collaborate with PMO teams to understand and mitigate key risks affecting schedules and costs.

Who you are

You’ll bring a degree-level education or equivalent experience in a similar role, ideally within a complex and regulated industry such as nuclear or energy. Risk-specific qualifications or professional memberships are a plus.

You have senior-level experience in risk or project controls, with a strong grasp of risk frameworks and methodologies. Your leadership skills are proven, and you know how to support a team to deliver impactful results.

Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organisational skills are second nature to you. You’re a collaborator who can influence across the organisation, and you’re confident leading teams to success.

If you’re ready to take on the challenge as our Delivery Risk Lead, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date for applications is: 14th August 2025
