The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC) is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. Its delivery will be reliant not only on innovative engineering and construction but also in its strongLeadership. .This post is a key leadership position within the Delivery organisation working within the Conventional Island and Balance of Plant (CI/BOP) Senior Leadership Team. The incumbent will lead the delivery of agreed scope within the CI/BOP Area. They will perform several key roles but be principally accountable for ensuring, through the leadership of Multi-Disciplined Teams, the successful safe coordinated delivery across the sub-area lifecycle of the design, procurement, construction and commissioning sequences and activities required to deliver the HPC schedule.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Delivery Manager, you will lead the end-to-end work scope in one of three areas,;BOP4 Auxiliary Buildings and Power Transmission, BOP2 Transverse Equipment, or BOP2 Access and Ancillary Buildings.
You’ll be responsible for leading and managing strategic relationships with our suppliers, fostering a collaborative and constructive approach throughout the full lifecycle of the project.
In this role, you’ll define and implement both short- and long-term strategies through the various phases of construction to ensure successful delivery. You’ll work closely with other programme teams to maintain a holistic view of overall project progress, sharing insights and embedding industry best practices.
A key aspect of your responsibilities will be the proactive identification, analysis, and management of project schedule risks. You will lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring optimal performance and engagement.
Additionally, you’ll oversee the delivery of contract and package activities, ensuring they are executed safely, to the required quality standards, on time, and within budget—aligning with all business and technical requirements.
Regular monitoring and management of programme performance will be essential, including tracking progress against key milestones, deadlines, and budgets, and providing clear, timely updates to stakeholders.
Who You Are
You bring a strong foundation in Project Management, ideally supported by a professional qualification such as the APM PPQ or another recognised accreditation. While a degree and chartered status in construction, engineering, or a related discipline is desirable, your proven expertise and practical experience speak volumes.
You have a solid understanding of EPR design and a track record of successfully delivering major projects in technically complex and fast-paced environments. Your leadership skills are evident—you inspire, guide, and motivate diverse teams to deliver results.
Your familiarity with NEC and/or FIDIC contract frameworks enables you to navigate contractual landscapes with confidence. You also recognise the critical importance of quality and assurance, particularly in a nuclear context, and bring the knowledge to uphold these high standards.
With experience in stakeholder engagement, you know how to build relationships, manage expectations, and drive alignment. Your strong management capabilities span project, financial, and change management, coupled with facilitation expertise.
Technically, you’re confident using estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk management tools. Your communication skills are a standout—you're a persuasive presenter, an effective influencer, and a skilled facilitator. You build strong networks and maintain them with ease.
A working knowledge of French and familiarity with CDM Regulations are valuable assets you may bring, enhancing your ability to operate in international and regulatory environments.
