About the Role

Our purpose is to help our 5 million+ customers achieve the transition to net zero and we’re making exciting changes to our Customers Retail (Residential and SME) business to make this a reality.

We’re looking for a dynamic and creative Content Specialist to join our growing content team.

The Opportunity…

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on creating user-focused, engaging digital content that simplifies complex topics, especially in the energy sector and enhances the online customer experience.

Reporting to the Senior Content Lead, you’ll play a critical role in creating and shaping content across a variety of digital touchpoints, from webpages and micro copy for customer journeys to interactive tools and visual content. You'll also support strategic decisions by collaborating with stakeholders, using data and insight to advocate for best-in-class content solutions.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a starting salary of £44,800, potential to earn 5% bonus, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

  • Produce exceptional, user-first content across websites, apps, and digital experiences.
  • Create accessible content in multiple formats — including copy, visuals, infographics, video/animation, or interactive tools — that simplify complex energy-related concepts.
  • Write clear, concise, and compelling micro copy for apps and digital interfaces.
  • Review and edit content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Optimise content for search engines and AI without compromising the quality of the user experience.
  • Collaborate with product owners and commercial teams to ensure content meets performance goals.
  • Collaborate with UX designers and engineers to establish and deliver great customer experiences.
  • Use CRO to test and optimise content.
  • Work closely with the Senior Content Specialist to bring content strategies to life, aligning content with business goals and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, developers, and subject matter experts to create cohesive digital experiences.
  • Use customer insight, analytics, and research to inform and support content decisions.
  • Uphold and evolve content standards, tone of voice, and best practices.
  • Confidently challenge briefs and push back on content requests where necessary, using data and evidence to back up your recommendations.

Who you are

  • Proven experience in a digital content role (agency or in-house), ideally in a complex, regulated, or technical industry.
  • Skilled in creating accessible content for a range of formats and channels — from web copy to micro copy and multimedia content.
  • Comfortable simplifying complex topics for a wide audience in an accessible, engaging tone.
  • Familiar with headless CMS and tools like Figma, Google Analytics, or similar.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills — with the confidence to advocate for content excellence using insight and evidence.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in multidisciplinary teams (UX, product, dev, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent grammar, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with conversational content structuring and workflows to support AI.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!

Closing date for applications: 7th July

Location: Flexible – whether you’re based in Hove or London we’d love to hear from you.
