Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater
As part of a recent reorganisation, the HPC Site Construction Supply Chain team is expanding — and we’re looking for commercially driven professionals to help lead us through the final phase of Europe’s largest construction project.
With an enhanced remit covering logistics, common services, marine operations, and critical delivery packages, this is a unique opportunity to influence the commercial success of Hinkley Point C.
If you're ready for a high-impact role with real responsibility, now is the time to join us.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
This is your chance to be part of a newly created commercial function that’s setting the standard for excellence. You’ll play a key role in securing and managing contracts, shaping governance, and delivering commercial strategies that support the success of the HPC project. With over 70 contracts still to be awarded, there’s plenty of opportunity to make a real impact.
You’ll be responsible for leading tender processes, negotiating long-term agreements, and ensuring commercial governance is robust and future ready. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll manage contracts up to £100 million in value, depending on complexity and risk.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
The salary associated with this role is Circa £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll lead the full tender lifecycle—from strategy and market research to supplier selection and contract award—ensuring every step meets internal governance and assurance standards. Your work will directly influence the commercial success of the HPC project.
You’ll collaborate with legal, credit risk, and procurement teams to ensure due diligence and robust contract documentation. You’ll also help shape and maintain commercial policies, procedures, and training, while keeping a sharp focus on cost control and supply chain value.
Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll support audits, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to a strong nuclear safety culture. You’ll also play a key role in knowledge sharing across projects and support the development of junior team members.
Who You Are
You’re either be a member of, or working towards membership with, CIPS or RICS. You bring a proven track record in managing tender processes and negotiating high-value contracts, backed by strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Ideally, hold a degree and have a solid understanding of contract performance, risk, and change management. You’re familiar with agreements like NDAs, warranties, and guarantees, and knowledge of industry-standard contracts such as NEC and FIDIC, is considered an asset.
Experience in the nuclear sector or knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks is a plus—but what matters most is your ability to think commercially, act with integrity, and work collaboratively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Closing date for applications is 8th June 2025.
