Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater.
As part of a recent reorganisation, the HPC Site Construction Supply Chain team is expanding — and we’re looking for commercially driven professionals to help lead us through the final phase of Europe’s largest construction project.
With an enhanced remit covering logistics, common services, marine operations, and critical delivery packages, this is a unique opportunity to influence the commercial success of Hinkley Point C.
If you're ready for a high-impact role with real responsibility, now is the time to join us.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As a Commercial Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of the HPC Commercial Group, working closely with the Commercial Manager and wider teams across Nuclear New Build. You’ll provide essential support to ensure contracts are managed effectively and contribute to the successful delivery of one of the UK’s most ambitious energy projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your commercial career in a dynamic, inclusive, and future-focused organisation.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
The salary associated with this role is Circa £36,000 per annum, depending on experience. We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for commercial support, helping to manage contracts and ensure everything runs smoothly. From assessing contractor applications and processing payments to reviewing site measurements and ensuring contractual obligations are met, your work will be essential to keeping the project on track.
You’ll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, attending progress meetings, monitoring contract performance, and flagging any issues early. Your insights will help shape decisions, manage risks, and ensure that changes are handled efficiently and effectively.
You’ll also play a key role in reporting and documentation—preparing cost reports, supporting project close-outs, and maintaining commercial tools like CEMAR and SAP. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help drive success across the board.
Who You Are
You might have a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, but what really matters is your ability to demonstrate a strong track record in contract administration. You’re someone who thrives in a team environment and brings a collaborative spirit to everything you do.
You’ll have a solid understanding of contracts, cost reporting, and financial modelling, along with a basic grasp of performance measurement and risk management. Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC standard contract forms is considered an asset. Your communication skills are top-notch, and you’re confident influencing and negotiating with people at all levels.
If you’re looking for a role where you can grow, make a difference, and be part of something truly meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.
Closing date for applications is 8th June 2025
