About the Role

Aztec West, Bristol (hybrid working)

A career that will deliver change. Together, we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero.

Are you ready to help shape the future of nuclear energy in the UK?  Join our Anchorage team and play a vital role in delivering two of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Europe—Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

The Opportunity

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.

As a Civil Anchorage Engineer, you’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing and verifying anchorage systems that ensure the structural integrity of critical nuclear infrastructure. You’ll work across disciplines and projects, contributing to both current construction and future replication efforts.

That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you.

Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for the design, analysis, and integration of anchorage systems—such as embedded plates, anchor bolts, and post-installed anchors—into the civil structures of HPC and SZC. Your work will ensure these systems meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Working closely with civil, mechanical, and structural teams, you’ll validate technical drawings, models, and documentation, and contribute to design reviews and coordination meetings. Your input will be essential during construction, where you’ll support site teams with technical queries and ensure quality assurance.

This is a role where your engineering expertise will directly impact the safety and success of the UK’s next-generation nuclear power stations.

Who You Are

You’ll be experienced in Civil or Structural Engineering with knowledge of structural design, ideally within nuclear or high-integrity infrastructure projects. You’re confident working with anchorage systems and familiar with both cast-in and post-installed solutions.

You’re proficient in structural analysis tools like RSTAB, ANSYS, or Hilti Profis, and have a solid understanding of Eurocodes, ETC-C, and UK nuclear regulations. Your communication skills are strong, and you’re comfortable working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Experience with EPR projects, seismic anchorage design, or BIM tools like Navisworks is a plus. If you also speak French, that’s a bonus—but not essential.

Applications close for this role on Monday 28th July with interviews following shortly after.
