Business Improvement Team Member
Do you have a passion for business improvement? Do you possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships? We’re currently recruiting a part time Business Improvement team member at Sizewell B Power Station for our Business Improvement team.
The Opportunity
You would join our highly motivated and multi-skilled team within the Business department. You’ll be responsible for supporting the Corrective Action Programme (CAP), Operational Experience (OpEx) programme and will have the opportunity to support continuous improvement across the wider station organisation. This will include the condition report, action and investigation elements of the CAP process and foundations of the OPEX programme to share learning and drive improvement within the station.

In addition to a salary ranging from £44,112 - £92,778 (pro rata for 27 hours pw) we offer a company pension scheme, generous holiday allowance. During periods of shutdowns and critical work programmes, it may be necessary to work additional hours where a comprehensive agreement is in place to cover any excess hours worked. What you’ll be doing
Your primary responsibilities will support organisational learning processes (CAP, OpEx, Self-Assessments and Benchmarking) throughout the location, including:
- Processing Condition Reports on a daily basis to highlight positive and adverse trends, including application of codes which help to aid trending, using specific computer software.
- An active member of the Site Weekly Screening Meeting and Corrective Action Review Boards.
- Supporting the corrective action programme by monitoring the performance indicator and other programme metrics to track, trend and identify appropriate actions to deliver performance improvement.
- Providing periodic analysis, reports and process support on action and investigations for each department (via department trend review boards).
- Identifying learning to be shared onsite and with other stations via investigations, peer groups, other organisations and learning platforms/databases.
- Supporting the provision of training to all personnel supporting the CAP and OpEx processes.
- Responsible for promoting organisational learning focused on quality and effectiveness, ensuring links between organisational learning activities.
- Supporting effective and proactive engagement with the WANO peer review process
- Developing, planning and monitoring long term improvement activities to address known performance gaps
- Analysis and reporting of learning to the wider station on Benchmarking and Self-Assessments
Who you are
The minimum qualification for this role is HNC (or level 4 equivalent qualification).
You will have/will be:
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to build relationships with a wider network or people both within the station and externally
- Able to give self-direction and work autonomously with flexibility
- Competency in Microsoft applications
- An understanding of organisational learning, performance improvement and business planning processes is desirable but not essential.
