If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our next Workforce Employment Specialist here at Hinkley Point C!

The Opportunity

Acting as a key liaison, you’ll work with key contractors, public sector stakeholders, trade unions, and local candidates daily. In addition to supporting projects linked with HPC, you will also collaborate with the 'Construction Hub' to provide staffing solutions for other local construction developments, driving workforce development across the region.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a salary of Circa £50,000 depending on knowledge, skills & experience and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you will be doing

As our Workforce Employment Specialist, you will play a key role in expanding and managing the local talent pool, ensuring contractors have access to qualified candidates for both Hinkley Point C and other regional construction projects. You'll build strong relationships with contractors, provide guidance to local job seekers, and support recruitment efforts to meet project demands.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Tier 1 and local contractors to fill job vacancies
  • Shape and manage the HPC Jobs Service talent pool to meet construction demand
  • Support and guide local candidates through meetings, presentations, and engagement initiatives
  • Assist contractors by shortlisting, screening, and recommending suitable candidates
  • Share training and pre-employment opportunities with the talent pool
  • Manage the HPC Jobs Service database and key contractor relationships
  • Organise and manage recruitment events to support contractor mobilisation and project demands
  • Support workforce demobilisation by identifying reemployment opportunities in local projects.

Who you are

To succeed in this role, you'll need exceptional stakeholder and account management skills, along with the discretion to handle confidential information with care. A strong appreciation for promoting employment, training, and diversity is essential, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. You'll also need strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the capability to produce high-quality reports and presentations. We’re also looking for you to bring to this role:

  • Proven success in supporting contractors to hire local talent and apprentices through an understanding of local labour schemes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder and partnership relationships.

  • A proactive, forward-thinking planner who regularly evaluates and improves personal performance.

  • Adaptable team player with a "can-do" attitude and eagerness to learn.
