EDF Renewables UK (“EDF RUK”) is one of the UK’s leading renewable energy companies, specialising in wind power and battery storage technology.  EDF RUK develops, builds, operates and maintains wind farms and other renewable technologies throughout their lifetime. The EDF RUK portfolio of nearly 1,000 MW consists of 35 wind farms – including two offshore wind farms – and one of the largest operational battery storage units in Europe. In addition, we are seeking to deliver further growth from its own development pipeline or though securing new acquisitions of projects and have more than 2GW consented, in planning and development.

 

We have recently changed our IT Operating Model to meet our exciting growth plans. To help us achieve our goals we are looking for a high calibre IT Business Analyst to join the expanding IT team based in Rainton Bridge, Durham.


Reporting to the IT Programme Manager, you will support the mapping of the “as is” current functions to documentation to be used in the planning and migration of systems on to new IT platforms.

Day to day:

  • Supports the mapping of the “as is” current functions to documentation to be used in the planning and migration of systems on to new IT platforms.
  • Develop an understanding of the current ‘grey IT’ usage and interface points across the business.
  • Facilitates and leads workshops and other change management techniques, such as job observation to understand, evaluate and document existing (‘as is’) business processes and systems, from simple application processes to highly complex cross functional and directorate processes
  • You will be responsible for utilising your expertise in working with users to gain an understanding of their systems, tools and resources, and their associated touch points and interface.
  • Develops and maintains robust relationships with the IT team to ensure effective collaboration and full engagement on all technical matters.
  • Continuously strives for high levels of user satisfaction with the IT services, ensuring that improvements are continuous, measurable and sustainable 
  • Helps set the standard for new ways of working bringing the high levels of agility and with appropriate controls where necessary 
  • Maintains strong collaborative relationships with the others EDF Group organisations, ensuring the best of EDF group capabilities are leveraged.

The Person

You’ll thrive in this role if you possess a strong technical background, business analyst experience and stakeholder management experience.

 

You’ll have demonstrable IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments.

The Skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of operating as a business analyst or similar role within an IT function;
  • Proven track record in delivering workshops and other change management techniques, readily adopting new ways of working and technology innovation 
  • Working with diverse sets of stakeholders to agree solutions that meet a range of business demands 
  • Experience of working with multi-location teams;

 

Knowledge & Competencies

  • Demonstrable IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments
  • Demonstrated breadth and in-depth knowledge of IT service delivery 
  • Highly motivated to deliver results and ‘go the extra mile’ to meet deadlines;
  • Must have good written, verbal and presentation skills;
  • You will have exceptional client facing skills and have strong stakeholder management experience, being able to map the “as is” functions in to documentation to be used for the planning and possible migration of systems on to new platforms.
  • Demonstrate ability to draw out relevant information on roles and processes from business and IT stakeholders.
  • Experience understanding front end systems using Excel and MS Access would be particularly useful for this role, documenting what Databases they are calling on and where they are located.
