We are seeking a talented and driven Electrical Engineer – Solar, Storage and Private Wire Delivery to play a vital role in achieving our project ambitions. As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing Electrical Engineering expertise, project engineering, leadership, and oversight for our diverse portfolio of solar, storage and private wire projects in various stages of development and construction.

What you’ll be doing


Engineering Excellence:  Ensuring that all engineering activities adhere to statutory requirements and the company's policies on safety, quality, engineering, and design management, with a strong focus on optimization and efficiency.

Collaboration and Support: Working closely with the delivery team and other departments within the organization to secure the necessary support and resources required to achieve our project delivery ambitions. 

Technology Integration: Supporting the development team in the development of new sites, encompassing Battery Energy Storage, Solar, Private Wire, and Hybrid projects, which may include other technologies like wind or Hydrogen.

Project Execution: You will play an integral role in the delivery team, ensuring seamless project execution. Provide Electrical Engineering support to other team members as well as managing the Main Equipment package and ensuring clear interfaces with the Balance of Plant (BoP) contract for your own projects. Undertaking site visits, Quality Assurance of Electrical works, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) as required.

Commissioning and Handover: Providing support during the commissioning phase and leading the handover process to the asset operations team. Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the systems being worked on to ensure technical excellence for the asset lifetime.

Relationship Building: Building successful relationships with external partners, peers, stakeholders, and reporting lines to enhance collaboration and project success.

 

 

 Who you are

 

Proven Leadership: You will have demonstrated experience as a successful senior electrical engineer in delivering projects or programs. Having the ability to establish and manage relationships, maintain a safe environment, manage priorities, and inspire and influence behaviours and actions.

Safety and Quality: Strong commitment to safety, health, environment, and quality practices. NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent) certification is desirable.

Education: Minimum of an electrical engineering degree. Chartered membership of an appropriate engineering body would be an advantage.

Technical Proficiency: You will be highly proficient in Electrical Engineering, especially MV/HV within generation environments. Able to review electrical designs, schematics and specifications. Experience of Grid Code compliance and harmonics/protection/load flow studies advantageous.

Risk Management: Proven experience in managing risks and challenges in an industrial-scale generation environment.

Relationship Building: Track record of building successful relationships with external partners, peers, stakeholders, and reporting lines.

Commissioning Experience: Prior experience in commissioning and fault finding on HV and SCADA systems. Experience within the renewables or energy sector is advantageous.

Computer Skills: Good command of Microsoft Office package (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.).
