The Opportunity 


Join us as our next Project Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Service Agreements Project Manager in delivering service agreement contracts to support HPC and assist the Temporary Projects team in delivery of temporary commissioning projects. Embrace a dynamic mix of office and site-based work as you ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.  


With no direct reports expected, you'll have the autonomy to support project success and ensure delivery of all procurement, technical, engineering, and commissioning activities in alignment with safety, quality, and cost parameters.

What you will be doing… 


As the Project Engineer, you'll support the timely and quality delivery of specific activities, overseeing contracts and detailed schedules throughout the project lifecycle. Your contributions will be pivotal in guiding diverse project team members, identifying key resources, and ensuring clear communication throughout. Your roles and responsibilities will include:  


  • Collaborate closely with the Service Agreement Project Manager, supporting day-to-day activities to ensure alignment with project needs in safety, quality, schedule, and cost. 
  • Work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, to deliver service agreement contract procurement activities with enthusiasm and dedication. 
  • Under the guidance of the Project Manager, define the scope of works within the service agreement contract or temporary project package of work, identifying interfaces with other program elements. 
  • Support the delivery of assigned small projects, jobs, and tasks, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and effectively according to established procedures. 
  • Prepare and maintain essential project documentation, including Project Definition Documents, Project Briefs, and Quality Plans, to ensure clarity and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Develop and implement execution strategies and plans aligned with the overall program execution plan (PEP), providing clear direction on how the program of work will be managed, organised, and executed. 
  • Maintain open and effective communication with stakeholders, executing project strategies within your assigned contract or package of work to drive success and ensure everyone is on the same page. 
  • Monitor progress, track milestones, and provide stakeholders with comprehensive progress reports, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project. 


Who you are… 


As our next Project Engineer, we’re looking for you to utilise your previous experiences in similar roles within procurements, projects or engineering. Holding a degree in a relevant subject and having a project management qualification would be desirable, we’re looking for you to hold the following to be suitable for this position: 


  • Prior experience in negotiating Service Agreement contracts (preferred but not essential). 
  • Ability to facilitate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver service agreement contract procurements. 
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act. 
  • Awareness of budget monitoring, commercial awareness, and contractor management. 
  • Strong understanding of the importance of Quality within the project environment, including familiarity with Quality Assurance documentation and adherence to governance frameworks. 
  • Proficient in preparing reports and information using software packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Relevant project experience in engineering/construction projects, including the application of project management processes.
