The Opportunity

We are currently looking to recruit the Documentation and Records Manager (D&R Function Manager) who will be responsible for delivering organisational change within the HPC Quality Department whilst leading the three managers for the Records and Documentation teams.  The Manager will ensure nuclear industry and major project best practice in documentation and records are defined and deployed across the NNB organisation and HPC Project.  


As a leader the Documentation and Records Manager, you will be an inspirational change manager capable of delivering organisational, behavioural and digital change on record management across the HPC project whilst interfacing with a large number of complex stakeholders.


Through your team, you will ensure that the records management arrangements and requirements are clearly communicated for effective deployment by the Licensee organisation and its supply chain.  You will support the Head of Quality in discharging the Licence Conditions’ Compliance Owner duties for Licence Conditions 6 and part of 17. 


As the focal point for NNB’s record strategy and implementation plan, you will be required to be comfortable as the visible champion for record management positively support the drive for a records delivery across the organisation. Similarly, you will oversee the provision of the HPC Document Control service providing line management of the Document Control Managers and of the Records Manager and team and leadership across the integrated function.

The Person


Your main responsibility will include but will not be limited to:


•    Leading the Documents & Records teams to ensure appropriate, efficient and effective support for the duration of the project and that, where appropriate, succession arrangements are in place
•    Developing and delivering a change programme that maximises our digital assets, minimises paperwork production and processing and delivers our aspiration of all signatures being in a digital workflow for commissioning. 
•    Ensuring compliance with the management system requirements to support Nuclear Licence compliance, particularly for Licence Conditions 6 and 17.
•    Delivering the responsibilities and accountabilities of LC Owner for LC6 on behalf of the Head of Quality.
•    Champion the Records Management Processes and the Document Control Processes across the project and with external stakeholders.
•    Supervising the optimisation of the Records Management approach for the HPC Project which provides assurance that records management processes are operated in conformance to requirements (and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and are effective in terms of delivering intended results.
•    Supporting and leading engagement with Regulators (Office for Nuclear Regulation and Environment Agency) on project arrangements for Records and for Document Control.
•    Developing Key Performance Indicators to promote improvements in the business arrangements under their control.

The Skills


The successful candidate will be characterised by the following knowledge, qualifications and experience:



•    Worked as a senior manager in a regulated industry
•    Experienced leader in a complex regulated setting, used to delivering change for organisational, behavioural and digital
•    Capable of Leading the managers of the Records Management and project controls techniques within multi-disciplined organisation
•    Self-managing with strong organisational skills
•    Interact with key stakeholders in the supply chain to deploy the records arrangements
•    Confident and articulate communicator, able to prepare presentation material, and comfortable addressing individuals, small groups and very large audiences
•    Act as a strong advocate for best practice, able to support and defend practical deployment and solutions, whilst remaining open to the ideas of others
•    The ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
•    A team player who recognises how their position impacts and influences others
•    Degree or equivalent in a subject that demonstrates relevant organisation skills
•    Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations



•    Knowledge & understanding of nuclear site license conditions Large-scale infrastructure project experience
•    Previous experience of working in a regulated environment (eg nuclear)
•    Previous experience within the nuclear industry
•    Experience of deployment of Records / Document and Data Management methodologies and tools within a major infrastructure project environment
•    An ability to identify Records Management requirements, develop systems and processes for the benefit of the project and future operations team, resolve any anomalies, employ best practice, initiate set up, communication links and access for relevant team members
•    Understanding and application of the QA process applicable to Records Management
•    Experience in the application of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001 standard in a multidisciplinary project environment
