The Opportunity...

 

At Hinkley Point C (HPC), we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

 

We are looking for a Quality Management Lead, to join our Quality Delivery Team and ensure that HPC Project quality requirements are complied with across the full project life-cycle.

 

For a given portfolio of work, you will be the single point of contact for all quality related elements associated with the supply chain. You will support the Quality Delivery Manager and their respective Multi Discipline Team by the provision of quality management expertise

 

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join an exciting and complex infrastructure project. Without nuclear, Britain won’t kick the fossil fuel dependency.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • Support the development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements for deployment across the HPC organisation;
    • Implement key quality arrangements related to the following topics:
    • Manage Quality Execution
    • Support Technical Assessment of Suppliers
    • Conducting Manufacturing Surveillance
    • Modulating Manufacturing Surveillance
    • Management of Non-Conformances
    • Quality Release Certificate Process (where applicable);
  • Undertake actions to resolve issues relating to the implementation of quality and to bring about improvements, and support others in these actions.
  • Review, accept and monitor Contractors Quality Assurance Plans (CQAP) provided by the supply chain;
  • Identify needs for supply chain audits and engage Supply Chain Auditors to perform audits and prompt resolution of findings;
  • Produce Project Quality Control Plans (PQCP) for each contract;
  • Provide relevant guidance to contractors, including contractor’s CQAPs, LTQR partitioning strategies and the arrangements for identifying and planning for Quality Related Activities;
  • Ensure manufacturing surveillance per contract is applied in a graded approach of equipment safety function and project importance through surveillance offers and performance monitoring of the inspection agencies used.

 

 

Who you are…

 

Your background may include some of the following:

 

  • A HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
  • Broad experience of implementing a variety of quality related solutions.
  • Proven experience of interaction and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear power sector, with significant focus on project quality.
  • A clear and considerable understanding of quality management best practice for deployment by large, complex and contract-led organisations.
  • Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations.
  • The ability to influence and to provide constructive challenge which is accepted by others.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Pro-active and flexible, being prepared to plan and work on own initiative.
  • Understanding of software management and I&C
