Based at HPC initially with the objective to relocate to France
Full-Time, Permanent. 3-4 days on site and 1-2 days working from home or other offices.

The Opportunity
 
Initially you will spend time immersed in the Hinkley Point C project based either on site or at one of our satellite offices in Bridgwater or Bristol. The objective of the programme is for you to develop your EPR2 expertise, to l then be relocated to EDF France as part of our EPR2 Development Program. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of our programme to build the skills required to support us with our EPR2 build in France.

 

As our next Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of a contract or work package, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities.

In this role, you’ll ensure that all planning and delivery align with the overall project schedule, adhering to safety, quality, time, and cost parameters. Reporting directly to a Senior Project Manager, you’ll direct all activities related to the contract or work package, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.

What you will be doing…
 
In collaboration with the Senior Project Manager, you'll play a key role in securing necessary resources, maintaining SQEP standards, and promptly addressing any personnel shortfalls within your project team.  You'll also assist in developing and implementing strategies aligned with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), ensuring effective management, organisation, and execution of the program.
 
Your responsibilities extend to maintaining open communication with stakeholders and executing project strategies within your designated contract or work package. Along with this, your responsibilities also include:
 
•    Proactively anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within your contract or package, identifying risks, facilitating resolutions, and contributing to the development and update of the program budget. Escalate any issues to the Senior Project Manager when necessary.
•    Work alongside the Senior Project Manager to develop and maintain schedules for the contract or work package, ensuring alignment with overall Project schedules. Promptly escalate any discrepancies.
•    Cultivate a culture of lessons learned and knowledge capture as part of our everyday business practices.
•    Interface with other programs to ensure a high-level view of the overall project's progress, identifying and adopting best practices.
•    Ensure fulfilment of contractual requirements within your assigned contract or package, escalating where necessary to the Senior Project Manager.
 

Who you are…
  
In this role, we’re looking for you to have an understanding of the specific needs of nuclear quality together with:
 
•    Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of leadership principles in complex projects.
•    A commitment to excellence in everything you do
•    Successful experience in engaging multi-level stakeholders in a regulated environment.
•    Experience operating within NEC and FIDIC commercial arrangements.
 
While a degree in engineering, construction, or a related field is desirable, your demonstrated project management experience in engineering design, contract and field execution strategies, multi-discipline EPCM projects, construction activities, procurement, and management of complex contracts will be paramount in this role.

 

As this role will eventually be based in France, you must be in a position to relocate at that point including the ability to speak French fluently.
