Our Cyber Security Opportunity

 

Embark on a transformative 15-month programme, where you’ll spend time in different business areas learning about the company and the wider security team, preparing for your role protecting the Operational Technology systems at Hinkley Point C.  


Hinkley Point C is the first nuclear power station to be built in the UK for a generation and includes many computer-based Operational Technology (OT) systems performing monitoring, automation and protection functions. Our OT Cyber Security specialists are key to keeping these systems safe and secure from internal and external threats.

Training, development, and support for you 


We’re passionate about your development and we offer each graduate a tailored training plan, relevant to your discipline, to develop your skills, build your confidence, knowledge and experience.


This role will allow you to develop your coordination and stakeholder management skills with technical and non-technical leadership. 


You’ll be involved in tasks like these: 

 

  • Protecting EDF's interests and security; including terrorist and sabotage threats and helping assess threat intelligence.
  • Helping support our Vetting Operations within Personnel Security.
  • Assessing cyber risks to key IT and industrial control (OT) systems across the nuclear fleet and new build projects.
  • Preparing to respond to cyber-attacks and incidents. You’ll get involved in visits to suppliers and auditing them from a cyber security point of view.
  • Involvement with regulatory activities and interventions whilst supporting the team.

Your work location 


You will be based at Hinkley Point C (Bridgwater), the largest construction project in Europe but you’ll be open to travel as some meetings may take place in other locations in the UK or Europe and during the first year some activities may be based at our modern office in Gloucester.

To be eligible for this EDF graduate programme, you need to have achieved or be expecting a bachelor’s degree, 2:2 or higher, in STEM subject with an interest in Cyber Security, Industrial Automation, Risk Management, Assurance Management, Security Management, or Project Management.

 

To meet our security vetting requirements, you need to have lived in the UK for at least three out of the past five years.
