Job is based in Hinkley Point C construction site, at least 3 days in the office on site and you will be able to work from home the other 2 days. (flexible)

The Joint Design Office (JDO) is an integrated team composed of teams from: the HPC Client (NNB), who leads the JDO; EDVANCE and CNEPE and Contractors who have carried out the detailed design studies. As part of its scope of delegation, JDO provides technical support at the HPC EPR site for the resolution of the various problems arising during the construction phases and later during the testing and commissioning operations. 


As an Equipment Engineer, you will report to the relevant JDO Discipline Manager (who also represents locally the Responsible Designer CNEPE). You will the local Point of Contact for the management of topics related to equipment in the scope of works of the Responsible Designer for both BNI and CI/BoP (tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, etc.). Those topics relate to field events such as clarification request, adaptation requests, change request, non-conformance, etc. In this context the JDO Equipment Engineer is responsible for:


•    Managing requests in his scope of delegated authority,
•    Detailing, proposing solutions and coordinating the resolution of requests with staff in the back-offices and with the equipment supplier, when needed, 
•    Challenging requests and any other topics from the contractors and HPC.

What you’ll be doing…

•    Supporting the construction of the two EPR on HPC by answering to requests coming from building and erection contractors on equipment discipline
•    When answering to those site requests:

o    Gathering all needed input for the answer,
o    Producing technical assessment and solution, with supporting justification,
o    Liaising with design back-offices or execution designer when needed,
o    Assessing and listing the impacts of the site change on the equipment design,
o    Opening the dedicated change process to launch the implementation of the impacts,

•    Reporting to the Equipment Discipline Lead achievements, progresses and difficulties and raising alerts on any aspects of the design when identified,
•    Contributing to the closure of design open points after the delivery of design packages to site,
•    Being part of JDO Equipment team, participating to Team meetings, sharing technical topics.

•    Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline (Bac + 5 – Chartered engineer, MSc or equivalent).
•    Experience in design, design management and manufacturing of mechanical equipment
•    On-site experience in construction works




•    Knowledge of regulations, codes and standards related to the design in the nuclear industry
•    Knowledge of the operation of nuclear power plants as well as nuclear safety requirements
•    Knowledge of EPR Design principles
