Electrical Superintendent

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Hinkley Point C as our next Electrical Site Engineer otherwise known as a Construction Superintendent.


The Opportunity…


We’re looking for you to embark on this extraordinary journey with Hinkley Point C, a cutting-edge nuclear site nestled in the heart of West Somerset, just 15 miles from Bridgwater. Joining the HPC site construction team, you'll play a pivotal role in the realisation of our ambitious plan to build two major EPR nuclear plants. As our construction superintendent, your expertise in delivering large and complex projects under tight constraints is vital, considering the project's scale, duration, and immovable completion date.

What you’ll be doing…


As the Construction Superintendent, you're not just responsible for ensuring quality compliance, but be the driving force behind the "Delivery" of excellence in your designated specialism. Your role will consist of a dynamic range of activities, from logistics planning and implementation to Health and Safety, Surveillance, and reporting. Collaborating closely with the site-wide logistics team, you'll be the go-to person for planning, monitoring, and closing out obligations and conditions.


Reporting to the NEC Supervisor and interfacing with the Programme Client team through the Construction Lead, your team's input into site-wide management issues will be invaluable. Your commitment to adhering to and enhancing company policies, procedures, and protocols makes you an essential part of our success in construction, procurement, health & safety, and beyond.


Other roles and responsibilities also include:


  • Verify Works compliance with the contract and report defects to Senior Construction Delivery Manager and NEC Supervisor
  • Submit necessary details for Defects Certificate issuance by the Project Manager through the NEC Supervisor
  • Advise the Client’s delivery team on quality, safety, environmental, resource, and progress matters
  • Maintain proactive communication with site teams, ensuring timely reporting and fostering good communication links
  • Contribute specific information to weekly and monthly reports, as well as manage performance and KPI indicators
  • Support team instructions for temporary measures to maintain safety and quality standards, taking appropriate follow-up actions
  • Develop the team's understanding of current and future site activities, ensuring tasks align with health, safety, and environmental requirements.


Who you are…


In this role, we’re looking for you to expand on your knowledge and high technical proficiency, showcasing your management skills and commercial awareness. You'll bring proven experience in Major Projects, ensuring excellence in organization, delegation, and communication within a high-performing team.


  • Proven experience in writing informative and concise diaries relevant to specific contracts
  • Motivating and energizing staff, fostering a climate of trust, and actively seeking alternative views
  • Installation and erection experience in large Mechanical or Electrical plants
  • Extensive previous experience delivering large complex projects
  • General understanding of design obligations under CDM Regulations, including document and drawing approvals
  • Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of French is advantageous
  • Minimum HND with an Electrical / I&C bias in Engineering or Construction Management.
