The Opportunity
As a Digital Training Developer, you’ll work with a range of digital tools to systematically develop and deliver high quality training solutions on site at Hinkley Point C. Your role will include implementing all phases of the systematic approach to training to support suitably qualified and experienced person compliance and continual plant and personnel performance improvement.
Within this role, you will also support the increasing demands within a digitally agile environment at Hinkley Point C, maintaining strong working relationships with key customers and stakeholders through developing and delivering training across a wide range of digital programmes within OITS (Operational Information Technology Solutions) and DTE (Digital Training Environment).
This is a 3-year fixed term contract role, based out of Hinkley Point C station working to a hybrid model, with 2 -3 days a week on site.

What you’ll be doing
Your key roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring full deployment of and compliance with the systematic approach for initial and continuing training programmes, to support continuous improvement in plant and personnel performance.
- Providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and guidance to reinforce fundamental work practices, error prevention techniques, and technical knowledge to improve individual and plant performance.
- Providing advice and guidance on relevant training matters with particular reference to Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations, subject matter expertise and company training objectives
- Developing and delivering a broad range of training using digital authoring tools.
- Delivering training in virtual and physical classroom, as well as providing coaching and mentoring of trainees to expedite learning.
- Acting as course coordinator for responsible training areas.
- Acting as the subject matter expert for responsible area and demonstrate a deep understanding of the relevant company standards, becoming the company expert and representative in responsible area.
- Ensuring company values, safety and OpEx (Operational Experience) are embedded throughout the training, training material and lesson plans.
- Maintaining relationships with both Nuclear Operations and EPR stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts for development of material.
- Communicating with external contractors if required, to provide training support services.
- Fully contributing to the business plan of the NSA (Nuclear Skills Alliance) and NNB (Nuclear New Build)in support of achievement of company organisational goals.
Who you are
To be considered for this role, you will have either an HNC, higher-level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
Experience in the Systematic Approach to Training is key, including training development and delivery plus experience of developing high quality digital learning content using a range of authoring and multimedia tools such as Articulate and Adobe Creative Cloud.
You will have good interpersonal and communication skills with experience in customer and stakeholder relations and the ability to apply current knowledge and adapt to latest technology.
You’ll also have the ability to function effectively in a team with strong mentoring and influencing skills, be able to identify, analyse and solve technical problems and experience of training processes and experience of the delivery of high quality technical / practical training.
You will have to deliver relevant training away from the base HPC location, so the ability and willingness to travel is crucial.
Ideally you will have knowledge of modern learning methods and media and experience of bringing these in the development and delivery of training and if you’re a holder of a recognised teaching/training qualification, that is a bonus.
Also, a good understanding of the key aspects of nuclear power plant systems and operation is desirable.
