The Opportunity

We are recruiting for several Commissioning Engineer roles within the Cross Functional Delivery Team in the Commissioning Programme. As the programme moves into its initial on-site activities and ramps up over the coming years, there will be approximately 500,000 activities to manage throughout its duration.

If you're ready to contribute to a major project in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a salary between £53,000 - £56,000 and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for supporting various commissioning activities, with specific duties depending on the area you support. Key responsibilities include working closely with a Senior Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Manager, developing and maintaining processes, and assisting the discipline delivery teams in executing their tasks effectively.

You’ll also provide technical support, engage with stakeholders to ensure clear communication, and help meet project milestones by supplying relevant information to the Commissioning Manager. Additionally, you’ll conduct technical assurance, identify associated risks, and use internal tools to manage and report on data effectively.

Who you are

As a key member of the team, you’ll bring a solid technical engineering background, with expertise in a relevant discipline and experience in process development and technical authoring. Your strong stakeholder management skills will enable you to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously, ensuring clear accountability and results. You’ll also have the confidence to influence both internal and external stakeholders effectively.

You’ll focus on fostering a culture of safety, empowerment, and trust within a diverse team, while coaching and developing the skills of others. A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline is essential, along with experience in regulatory environments. Additional experience in design, commissioning, maintenance, or operations, particularly in the nuclear industry, as well as commercial awareness, would be beneficial. French language skills and membership in an internationally recognised engineering body would also be advantageous.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!

Closing date for applications: 1st October 2024
