The Opportunity


We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and experienced procurement professional to join our supply chain department as a Senior Procurement Specialist. 

You will act as a Business Partner by supporting, challenging and advising on strategic and commercial decision-making related to third-party providers to support EDF Energy’s ambitions.  

As Senior Procurement specialist, you will support development and management of commercial contracts post contract award and also supporting procurement activity pre-contract award. You will have an overall process and delivery responsibility for a portfolio of high-volume business critical contracts which will be administered by a two 3rd party purchasing specialists.

Our Supply Chain department work hard to maximise value for EDF in the UK through the professional supply chain of third-party goods and services. This role will be instrumental in leading supplier selection, contract negotiation and supporting ongoing contract delivery throughout the contract lifecycle. 

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you can be based anywhere in the UK. Although the role is flexible, it will require occasional travel to meet suppliers and stakeholders.

The Role & Skills

The role will act as a subject matter expert for the business and other Supply Chain colleagues on commercial and contractual matters relating to IT/Technology 3rd party contracts.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in an environment where they can be flexible, enjoy exploring different approaches and thinking on their feet. 

You should be confident in RFx, contract management and providing commercial solutions, as well as being experienced in Supplier Relationship Management. 

As well as being an expert in contract management and negotiation, we are looking for skills across the following: 

  • Experience working in a Matrix environment 
  • Excellent communication skills and proven record of persuading and influencing of senior stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the award and development of contracts and ability to prioritise in a high paced environment
  • Strong understanding of contract and commercial law and sound understanding of contractual terms and conditions
  • Experience in Procurement Process Management including supplier sourcing, documentation, evaluation and selection and managing the tendering and award of contracts for high value multidiscipline contracts
