We are seeking a talented and driven Project Delivery Engineer to play a vital role in achieving our project ambitions. As the Project Delivery Engineer, you will be responsible for providing project engineering, leadership, and oversight for our diverse portfolio of Solar, Storage, and Private Wire projects in various stages of development and construction.

What you’ll be doing

 

Engineering Excellence: Demonstrate exceptional engineering expertise, showcasing the ability to lead and create value in a highly competitive and ever-changing marketplace. Ensure that all engineering activities related to EDF Renewables' battery, solar, and private wire portfolio adhere to statutory requirements and the company's policies on safety, quality, engineering, and design management, with a strong focus on optimization and efficiency.

Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the delivery team and other departments within the organization to secure the necessary support and resources required to achieve our project delivery ambitions. Foster a strong, collaborative, and positive working culture within the delivery function, the wider business, and with our contract partners.

Governance and Oversight: Contribute to governance, oversight, and support activities for projects. Embed engineering excellence, operational experience, and best available techniques into engineering activities. Consider risk and lifetime costs in all engineering endeavours.

Technology Integration: Support the development team in the development of new sites, encompassing Battery Energy Storage, Solar, Private Wire, and Hybrid projects, which may include other technologies like wind or Hydrogen.

Project Execution: Play an integral role in the delivery team, ensuring seamless project execution. Manage the main equipment package and ensure clear interfaces with the Balance of Plant (BoP) contract and other third parties. Undertake site visits, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) as required.

Commissioning and Handover: Provide support during the commissioning phase and lead the handover process to the Asset Operations team. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the systems being worked on to ensure technical excellence for the asset lifetime.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends to maintain technical proficiency and drive innovation.

Relationship Building: Build successful relationships with external partners, peers, stakeholders, and reporting lines to enhance collaboration and project success.

Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience as a successful leader or senior engineer in delivering projects or programs. Ability to establish and manage relationships, maintain a safe environment, manage priorities, and inspire and influence behaviours and actions.

 

Safety and Quality: Strong commitment to safety, health, environment, and quality practices.

 

Education: Minimum of an engineering degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Chartered membership of an appropriate engineering body would be an advantage.

 

Health and Safety Certification: NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent) certification is desirable.

 

Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in key areas of engineering, especially in a generation environment.  Prior experience of Solar and Storage would be an advantage.

 

Risk Management: Proven experience in managing risks and challenges in an industrial-scale generation environment.

 

 

Relationship Building: Track record of building successful relationships with external partners, peers, stakeholders, and reporting lines.

 

Commissioning Experience: Prior experience in commissioning energy systems or similar technologies is advantageous.

 

Computer Skills: Good command of Microsoft Office package (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.).
