Station Procurement Engineer

We’re currently recruiting for Station Procurement Engineers at Sizewell B Power Station. We can offer a competitive salary from £34,951 - £63,319 with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

The Opportunity


In the Supply Chain Department on station, we’re looking for a Mechanical Procurement Engineer and a Control & Instrumentation Engineer. For the Control & Instrumentation Engineer in particular, you will need sound, demonstrable knowledge in this area.

These opportunities mean you'll be the key leader of the team on maintaining and managing the technical/quality aspects of the sites spares and equipment catalogue. This also includes ensuring compliance with all required standards and arrangements applicable to the specification of plant spares and services, assisting in the resolution of Quality and Technical problems.

The Role


You’ll have a wide variety of responsibilities, including:
 

  • Developing procurement specifications in conjunction with technical specialists and buyers
  • Monitoring and advising on shelf life extensions and plant refurbishment activities
  • Assisting in addressing obsolescence issues, including reverse engineering
  • Providing advice and input for procurement engineering training
  • Supporting the Materials Planning process
  • Maintaining your working Knowledge of AP928 and the Work Management Process
  • Representing Sizewell B Supply Chain at Station and Corporate meetings
  • Carrying out Quality Control and Store Hold inspections
  • Providing your flexibility to support the wider department as required.

The Skills

 
These are challenging roles so you must have a sound working knowledge of technical and quality assurance arrangements/standards, applicable to the procurement of spare parts. You’ll need good commercial awareness and the credibility necessary to represent the Company and the Supply Chain Group. You should be educated to a minimum of HNC level in an engineering discipline. Success in the role will depend on a flexible working approach which includes supplier and other business unit visits necessary to support continuous improvement.
