Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We are seeking several Site Operations Duty Managers to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Sizewell C (SZC) construction site. This is a unique opportunity to be a pivotal player in the delivery of a new nuclear power plant, supporting a greener future.

Operational Efficiency: Maintain and monitor the Green Route, White Spaces, and platform interfaces in line with our traffic management and pedestrian protection procedures.

Emergency Preparedness: Represent site operations in emergency situations, focusing on broader site impacts.

Contractor Oversight: Manage and control contractor activities, especially outside of normal working hours.

Environmental Monitoring: Oversee road sweeping, waste disposal, noise, dust, and other environmental factors.

24/7 Site Support: Ensure continuous operational capability and respond to unplanned works due to system failures.

Team Integration: Work closely with subcontractors, building mutual trust and effective working relationships.

Shift Management: Produce shift briefings, daily records, and ensure seamless handovers.

Proven experience in incident control and emergency response.

Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and their practical applications.

Ability to work independently and share expertise with the team.

Experience managing logistical information and databases.

Desirable:

Experience in the construction sector, particularly mega projects.

Qualifications in logistics or traffic management.

Industry-related qualifications or extensive relevant work experience.

First Aid and Health and Safety qualifications.

Why Join Us?

At SZC, you’ll be part of an ambitious project that not only aims to revolutionize the energy sector but also offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the UK Government and local communities, while contributing to the future of sustainable energy.
