Simulator Tutor

Simulator Instructor – 6 month FTC

 

As a Sizewell B Operations Simulator Instructor, you’ll assist in developing and improving the Operations Control room training programmes and delivering training in the classroom or on the simulator. This training could be Initial training for new incomers or Continuing training for experienced staff.

 

You’ll be involved in developing and preparing the training materials and ensuring an appropriate balance of class-room sessions and simulator scenarios to guarantee competence and development.

We can offer a competitive salary from £59,662 - £92,778 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing

 

As a Simulator Instructor, your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Training Process  
    Delivering high standard Training with very positive impacts on knowledge, skills and behaviours
  • Coordinating the training schedule for Operations Control Room Training Programme courses utilising the simulator
    Improving quality of training to increase effectiveness with observations in the field of the effectiveness of the delivered training
  • Supporting organisational learning through active membership of the Control Room training curriculum review committees (CRC) and through timely effective use of Operating Experience
    Holding a pro-active role on the training committee.

 

Who you are

 

We need you to have a strong knowledge and background in PWR Operations. You’ll need to demonstrate enthusiasm and the ability to communicate and work with a team. You should have the skills and confidence to train effectively, with a flexible and adaptive style. Knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training would be beneficial. You’ll need to hold an appropriate qualification at HNC level or equivalent.

 

  • Individuals will have Operational Experience at a nuclear power station and have been qualified as a Reactor Operator or above.
  • A practical understanding of the systematic approach to training (SAT) would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal / relationship building / communication skills are expected. 
  • All instructors are expected to be Fleet Certified.
